Overview
The Suwon Theater Festival began in 1996 under the name "Suwonseong International Theater Festival," focusing on theater and outdoor plays in the Hwaseong area of Suwon. In 2018, the festival moved its venue to Gyeonggi Sangsang Campus and is now held with a focus on "Theater in public space," including street theater.
The Suwon Theater Festival aims to revitalize the monotonous daily lives of citizens through new artistic experiences and to stimulate joyful artistic imagination regarding everyday spaces by utilizing public parks as artistic stages.
