Overview

The Ulsan Onggi Festival is Korea’s only festival dedicated to onggi, the traditional earthenware that has been an integral part of Korean life for more than a thousand years. Held in Oegosan Onggi Village in Ulju-gun, where artisans continue to produce onggi using traditional techniques, the festival naturally serves as a showcase the region’s signature craft. It also contributes to the promotion of everyday onggi use and the continued development of this traditional industry. Visitors can enjoy onggi-making demonstrations by master artisans, as well as a variety of hands-on programs, exhibitions, and performances.

Best Time to Visit

South Korea has four distinct seasons. Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are the most popular times to visit. Summer brings humidity and occasional typhoons, while winter is cold but great for ski resorts and festivals.
