Overview
The Hwaseong Boating Festival, Hwaseong’s signature festival, is the largest marine cultural event in the Seoul metropolitan area. Visitors can experience a variety of activities on the waters of the West Sea, including sailing yachts, powerboats, marine cable cars, and the Voyage of the Pungnyudan. The festival also features the Messengers of the Wind dance parade, showcasing the energy and enthusiasm of local residents, as well as spectacular performances and fireworks that light up the night sky. From mudflat ecology programs and traditional fish-trap experiences to a large beach playground and marine plogging, the festival offers a diverse range of attractions and activities both on land and at sea.
